If you’ve recently rented out a property or have tenants moving in or out soon, there’s an important update you should know.
From 29 June 2026, Tenancy Services officially launched the new Bond Hub system. From now on, all Bond-related transactions must be completed online, and the paper Bond forms many landlords were familiar with have officially been retired.
This isn’t just a new website—it’s a completely new way of managing Bond transactions.
1. Paper Bond forms are no longer accepted
In the past, landlords and property managers could complete paper forms for Bond lodgements, Bond refunds, or tenant changes before submitting them to Tenancy Services.
That process has now ended.
The following transactions must now be completed through Bond Hub or a compatible property management system:
- New Bond lodgements
- Bond refunds
- Pet Bond top-ups
- Change of tenant
- Change of landlord

2. First-time users need to create a Bond Hub account
Many landlords assume that because they’ve paid Bond before, they can automatically access the new system.
That’s not the case.
If you’ve never registered for Bond Hub, you’ll need to create an account first.
Once you’re registered, you’ll be able to log in anytime to view your Bond records, track applications, and manage future Bond transactions online—without the need for paper forms.
3. Tenant responses now play a bigger role
Many Bond processes now rely on email or mobile notifications.
For example, when a Bond refund is submitted, tenants will receive a notification asking them to confirm the request. If they don’t respond promptly, the refund process may be delayed.
That’s why both landlords and tenants should make sure their email addresses and mobile numbers are up to date so they don’t miss any important notifications.
4. Not every property management system supports every Bond function yet
Many property management companies can now process Bond transactions directly through their software.
However, some systems are still being updated.
Functions such as Change of Tenant and Change of Landlord may not yet be available within every property management platform, meaning these applications may still need to be completed directly through Bond Hub.
If you’re unsure which process applies to your situation, it’s best to check with your property manager first.

Why has the government introduced Bond Hub?
The goal is simple—to make the Bond process faster and more efficient.
Under the old paper-based system, applications could be delayed because of missing information, incorrect signatures, or the time required for mailing and manual processing.
With the new digital system, applications can be processed more quickly, progress is easier to track, and both landlords and tenants have better visibility of where their application is up to.

It’s worth familiarising yourself with the new Bond Hub process and keeping an eye on any emails or text messages from Tenancy Services.
